Here are the images he sent me
This mace is called Weejas Might

Liofish rig

This is A Lionfish that I modeled in Maya

Time to rig!

On the Lionfish I modeled I removed the fins because they are going to be Ncloth

This is the controller placement.
The large controller that is horizontal controls the main wag of the tail.
That is also linked to the bones in the upper and lower fins so they rotate together.

Each controller on the tail has a "tail" attribute so there can be follow through action.
The model is red because I am using the SSS shader.
The fins are also reattached as Ncloth because  other than the tail the poisonous
spines the lion fish has do not move and the fins that are attached are quick cloth-like

This is the tail in action

Next steps are tweaking the Ncloth fields, and working on a caustic underwater lighting

3d thursday 8.18

For this 3d thursday I am working on a title card with my name to get back into after effects. I rendered out my name in 3d in Maya which will be on the title card. I am not sure if I am going to to use it but I may need a render either way here is just a few shots of that
